Description
Trades:
Lucic trade is explained. If we have to pay to move, that’s fine, but I can’t see it being more than a 3rd.
I think it’s time to move on from Valimaki. The better option would be to package him with another player, but Craig Smith is a 40 point player and I think could fit quite well in the bottom 6. Plus this feels like an all in year.

Offense:
1st: Huberdeau and Lindholm are obvious. I would let Mang start with him to see how good he can be especially if we sign him 5+ years.

2nd line: Hopefully, Monahan can be even 80% of his former self and try to get some chemistry between him and Toffoli. LW I was thinking Pelletier, but let’s see if Dube can drive this line.

3rd line: Was thinking of where to put Pelletier. I think it’s best to start him with vets and shelter him a bit while developing his two way game. As the season goes along, if Pelletier is out performing what is expected, swap him with Dube to have a true shutdown line and maybe Pelletier can add some fire to the second line.

4th line: Lewis can jump into this line when needed, but as is, they are all over 6ft and could be a physical line that can actually put up points.

Defense:
1st pair: I’d keep it the same

2nd pair: Have Kylington start with Weegar. I think Sutter likes to have a left dman and a right dman on each pair and this would be another d partner that can support Kylington similar to last year.

3rd pair: Zadorov plays with Stone or Mackey until Tanev is back. I like Tanev playing with Zadorov and hopefully having the same affect that he had on Kylington last year.

In my mind, these pairs are well balanced and can be rolled pretty evenly. Can make in game adjustments to have more offence or more of a lockdown pair.

Ah, don’t know much about their depth. Good to know for the future.

I'd like to see them give Philips a shot on the RW. He is small and speedy. Could be an ideal alternative to signing Rodriguez or Milano.

Ducks are not going to pay to take on 5.25 mil in Cap space, we've got 30 other teams calling looking for cap space and free agency where we can get it done.

I mean, a lot of those guys don’t have a $1 million salary with that cap hit. Would you rather pay $5m to a player or $1m to a player? Like I said, we could pay to get rid of him, but I don’t think it’ll be as much as people think because the salary is quite low.

Agreed. I think he deserves a shot!
