Overpay for Pulj and underpay in Seattle trade imo but base packages aren’t bad and I wouldn’t mind these

After the Bjorkstrand trade, Seattle doesn’t have the space for Gardiner anymore

While I'm very aware this represents the absolute upper-echelon of draft capital returns Edmonton should expect for Puljujarvi, I don't like the idea of trading him for non-roster pieces at all.

Edmonton would be silly to not accept this offer but I would seriously prefer something around Jesper Fast instead if the Hurricanes are the team Edmonton must do business with re: Puljujarvi.

Tbh I am aware that edmonton likely doesn’t want futures for puljujarvi but I feel they would not get much in return in terms of roster players. I think fast would be a good piece for Carolina to build a package around for puljujarvi but I find it unlikely as he meshes very well with staal and the canes are making a run for the cup. A deal around fast would be good for the canes if they cannot offload gardiner as the cap would work out much better. Really hard to see the canes offloading fast tho as he is likely a piece they are going to try and resign next offseason.

With no cap-space left around the league Pulju's return is likely a sole 3rd pick at most.
