Ya for sure I jump at Huberdeau, my only problem is dach, I still think he turns into a poor man’s, stamkos/laine/ovechkin type. Off-hand one timer on pp, but young so possibly prove me wrong, so I still think there’s a 2c hole. We will see how it goes,
Only reason i put him at 2C is because it MSL system which upon re-watching games i realized he wont put Dach at 4th C like every other coach would have here.
Case and point did you know after Dvorak was injured MSL chose not to play a Center in the 2nd Center role?
Pitlick and Dauphin were used over Poehling and Evans who were holding down 3rd and 4th lines(they played well too up there)
Why Pitlick and Dauphin over bringing up lets say Schnar ,Dea ,Vedejmo or Paquette and promoting either Evans or Poehling?
Win or Lose whether its in a faceoff circle or 1 v1 puck battles they came out with the puck more often then the rest.
They were playing for Jobs in the NHL next year and for Pitlck it was about finding a home once and forall
Why does all this matter?
MSL System
1st C - OZ /NZ Draws primary)
2nd C - OZ Primary
3rd C DZ/OZ Primary
4th C DZ/NZ Primary
I think this bode's well for Dach
Unlike everyone from Suzuki to Gallagher in Molsons Owned since 2009
Dach might not have to start on 4th line working his way up
I think if you give him strong enough partners as long as they efforts there like an Anderson
He'll always have value and whether he's producing or not those around him will be
I know after MSL moved Anderson to Suzuki-Caufield line that Caufield had 25 points in 21 games with a ton of goals
Anderson meawhile only had like 16pts i think in 21 games and was moved to try to spark that offense which was either feast or famine
Cant say he really had any games i'd call bad where he cost us or failed to help us win. Win or Lose he leaves it all on the ice and is a team leader based on actions alone.
Put that kinda leadership beside a Huberdeau and Dach will benefit greatly by proxy
Plus coach Nichols since joining MTL and MSL has improved our players a lot especially in the Faceoff area with a 4% average increase among regulars
