Team looks good, I just don’t think there is any chance Wood is on this team after this year

This is 23/24, he‘s a UFA by then.

That's assuming he only signs his QO and walks himself to UFA next year. Not sure he'll re-sign with the Devils as a free agent a year from now for below what his QO is this off-season

Devils have filed for arbitration this summer meaning he‘ll either sign a deal or get a one year arbitration award bringing him to UFA status next year. His QO is already off the table and the arbitrator can cut up to 15% from it in arbitration.

Agree that 2 x 2 is very low for him as a UFA.

I think that statement is a little bit premature. Wood played only 3 games last season and the Devils are finally a cap team so they need every penny. Hence the arbitration filing.

So does that mean Wood will receive a 1 year award at a number below his QO just because he only played 3 games last year due to injury? Does it actually work like that?
