How quickly we forget what it's like to not have a 2C. Kadri was instrumental in us winning the cup, he definately played way above his standards but none of these guys really bring anything close to what he brought. This route is just rotating through average players and hoping for a miracle. I don't think that's the best way to proceed during our best years to win the cup.

I agree, Toews would be a solid 2C though his value would certainly depend on if we continue to see the Toews we did at the back end of last year of if he can't get it together. I think it would be safer betting on him returning to some good form as it took him a while to get his hockey legs after a year out.

I mean, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sakic/Mac were able to pull the Toews trade off with both CHI and ARI retaining salary, and if he plays like he did during the tail-end of the season, I see this as a solid tactic that could easily result in a long playoff run once again. However, the Stastny signing, while I like Stastny a lot, think it's not the best fit over giving opportunity to a young prospect or signing someone like E-Rod.
