Likely season for the habs

Created by: Gmodo
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 31, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Don’t think that the habs brass will actively try to tank for another high pick, but could end up being a similar season as last year. I think they need to let Slaf tear up the AHL just like rantanen did, can’t afford to mess up his development. I could see a fire sale of guys not in the future plans to be moved at the deadline like this year. If price is out, and a few unlucky injuries the habs could be very thin, they are already the bottom team most likely in the Atlantic. Need to shed some salary and build for the future, in hughes we trust

MTL
  1. Hagelin, Carl
  2. 2024 1st round pick (WSH)
WSH
  1. Dvorak, Christian
Additional Details:
I’m not saying or even suggesting that dvorak would get traded to the caps, just thinking he could be a nice pick up at the deadline for a contending team needing some center depth with term. Return would be something like this imo
2.
MTL
  1. Petrov, Matvei
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Again not suggesting this is going to happen with the oilers just seems likely that dadanov will be traded at the tdl with salary retained. Gotta think a 20 goal scored will bring back a 2nd and prospect
3.
MTL
CHI
  1. Hoffman, Mike
  2. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
He can be useful cause he can score but at 4.5 gotta think it will be tough to trade him anywhere. Needs to go though
4.
MTL
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)
  2. 2025 4th round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Allen, Jake ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Good backup for a playoff team (again not suggesting the stars just a rough idea on a return)

If they run into injury trouble again I could see a move for Dvorak but with the Strome signing they if anything have too many guys at the 3c slot and don't need to add another

Doubt you'll get that for Dvorak, also you'd probably need to retain on Dadonov

he mentioned dadonov would get retained in the comments, also i think dvorak could definitely fetch a 1st especially if he has a good season.

Chicago easily declines. We don't have the retention spots to trade him this season, and a 5th isn't enough for the Hawks to take on that cap hit. The guy is one dimensional as well so not like he's a great fit to mentor the kids.
