Trocheck, Nino, tony d, Stephan, necas, to name a few, with 19 million in cap space they are gunna have to make some decisions

My take on Slaf
Habs are taking wright, but as a habs fan I’m one of the few who prefer Slaf, Wright is the safe boring choice but I think the upside is greater with slaf, He could be a cornerstone LW on Suzuki and caufields line for a long time. Trade up and grab a C in the middle of the first round by using some of the many middle round picks, And you have a good chance at signing PLD in 2 years if you want your 1/2 C punch.

Your misconception that I implied that #19 alone would get us Fiala or Chychrun is truly amusing.</div></div> well this aged well

That’s too bad, love price and all that he’s done for the habs, but that 10 million in cap space would be much more beneficial than price actually playing.

Not the Wright guy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>As my esteemed friend palhal says, UFAs Andrew Copp or Ondrej Palat can probably be had for $5.5 million for free. After all, we got Phillip Danault for $5.5 million last summer, and he went 27-24=51 points for us. Or we could trade lesser assets for Conor Garland, who went 19-33=52 points and has a cap hit of $4.95 million for 4 seasons.
If we trade the 19th overall draft pick, it should be for some heavy hitter like Kevin Fiala or Jakob Chychrun.</div></div>
True, they can be had for free but that’s only if you can actually sign them, and the 19th overall isn’t getting you chychrun, or fiala haha. Point totals aren’t everything believe it or not, 5.5 to be a physical force, score 15-25 goals, and fight. There are not many people in the league like Anderson hence why there is lots of interest in him

Dubois sign and trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Habsfan76</b></div><div>Regardless of the trade and what the return value of Dubois is, I can’t see it making sense to pursue Another centre for Montreal if they already have Suzuki and are going to draft Wright. Because he’s French Canadian he’s going to be linked to Montreal no matter what but it doesn’t seem like the right fit</div></div>
If you get a chance to get a player like PLD you have to try, wright may be back in junior next year, and a centre can always play wing, wings always can’t play centre, having depth there is a good thing. And that would mean dvorak would be on the way out

What are the values on these players
Well I thought there were lots of fan bases who were a bit crazy but Detroit fans take the cake for being fat and away the worst lol, read the title. Not suggesting the trades just looking for some values on guys. Credible insiders linked the wings to petry so obviously there’s some truth behind that. Clowns

Trying to win now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ceeque84</b></div><div>Gibson is not the goalie the oilers should be making a big push for. The Ducks will want way more than he is worth given his numbers the last few seasons. They dont NEED the cap space so its not like they would be trading him out of desperations either. And speaking of cap space, his contract is terrible. $6.4 mill for another 5 yrs, no thanks. The Oilers need a goalie for sure, but not that bad.</div></div>
And where do you suggest they get a true number 1 for less money than that? Pretty hard to find and they can’t keep wasting away 97 and 29 prime with league average goalies at best. They need a true #1 with term

Saw these ideas elsewhere
Agree with all the previous comments on Romanov, it isn’t all about how many points a guy gets in a year, I think the offence will come but it’s not a make or break for him. He is a young guy logging like 25 minutes a night and he plays super tough, look what the avalanche gave up for a guy like Manson at the deadline, I think they are similar styles of D

Lots of moving parts this summer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KentMcNally</b></div><div>I am not sure why people are high on acquiring Kirby Dach. Am i missing something? The most goals he scored in junior hockey was 25 and through 152 games in the NHL (almost 2 full years) he has 59 points (30 points per season). He is looking like Kotkaniemi to me: big, young and [perhaps talented but not actually doing anything.
I would keep Farrell. Maybe Harris and some later picks, but why give up Calgary's pick for Dach?
Do people think that he is about to break out for some reason?</div></div>
A lot to like about a 6’5 skilled C, who could play wing if needed (assuming wright pans out) watched alot of dach in junior and he was dominant, habs have a log jam on the left side for D, and Farrell looks to be a good prospect, but that’s a gamble it translates to the NHL, can’t keep stockpiling picks and prospects with nowhere to play them

Whats the price
I’m sure Dach would be along the lines of calgarys first, a young Dman like Harris, norlinder, struble, plus another sweetener depending on the prospect going back. Kakko will be much more but scratching him in an elimination game is rough
