Yeah, I'd probably do it from an Anaheim perspective, but I doubt Gibby waives for anywhere in Canada TBH.
Salzy and Jded liked this.

Gibson is not the goalie the oilers should be making a big push for. The Ducks will want way more than he is worth given his numbers the last few seasons. They dont NEED the cap space so its not like they would be trading him out of desperations either. And speaking of cap space, his contract is terrible. $6.4 mill for another 5 yrs, no thanks. The Oilers need a goalie for sure, but not that bad.

And where do you suggest they get a true number 1 for less money than that? Pretty hard to find and they can’t keep wasting away 97 and 29 prime with league average goalies at best. They need a true #1 with term

I dont know that its the best choice but i think Holland really has his eye on Husso. Husso is still fairly young at 27, still a considerably small sample on him starting games, but if they dont overpay him it could be a decent plan to sign him this offseason. Give Skinner alot of starts as well, run them as a 1A/1B tandem next season and see how it pans out. If the defence was improved it would obviously help out the goal tending situation as well.
Prime Example: Grubauer... dude was an absolute machine with the Avs, now on a much weaker team defensively and he isnt even sniffing a .900 save percentage.
Dont get me wrong, Gibson is great starting goal tender, but his contract is just not doable for the Oilers, and there is no way the ducks would be convinced to retain salary.
