I think Montreal and Chicago both receive better offers, and Idk why Pittsburgh would really want rodrigues tbh. Pure value wise the trades are decent tho imo

Lets try this again
Ok so it seems like a 3rd a little bit of a prospect upgrade isn't enough for Evans which is fair, so here Pool Party goes out for cap and his value is basically just nullified with Norlinder; both guys are kind of obsolete for their teams now anyways. The 2nd goes for Evans, he's a really solid bottom 6 center with decent cap hit and term and with Montreal in no rush to ship him out it makes sense why they wouldn't take less, while it gives Edmonton some depth which seems to be their main problem over the past few years.

Who adds
The thought process here is that Montreal have a surplus in LD prospects, and with Levi coming through, Portillo is essentially rendered obsolete. While Buffalo may very well use Portillo in a more blockbuster deal, which is fair, I could see a minor swap like this where they get another young offensive defenceman who is close to NHL ready to join the already young D core and Drouin could be a good, cheap playoff rental who compliments Buffalo's goal heavy strategy that they could fairly easily resign next year as a redemption project. I could also see Buffalo going for Edmundon as he still has term and he's a good veteran with a big body and leadership is perfect for a young team finally in the playoffs.

Potential trade
I don't think Savard is actively being shopped, and Edmundson is 90% more likely to be traded, but I doubt Hughes would pass up an offer he can't refuse. The only problem is since he can speak french, loves the team and city, and has been a great mentor, i think Hughes will want a bit of a premium, so I doubt a team overpays a lot more than his value. I think he's worth like a 2nd and B to C tier prospect, but I doubt Hughes will give him up for anything less than a 1st + B prospect + late pick, maybe he'd even ask more because he brings more value to the team than his trade value would give us. If you added maybe a second to Barrie and Bourgault the deal might work, but I understand why you wouldn't pay that.

I still do not understand how people don't get that it makes no sense to retain. If Hughes wanted the deal u just suggested to happen, it would have happened already

Lucic could go to a 3rd party if he isn't willing to waive for Montreal assuming they're on his list

Ok i doubt LA would give up this much future but i think values good
Explanation:
Monahan takes Lizotte's spot, Edmundson is a great leader, good defenceman, and is built for the playoffs, which is what pezzetta adds (you could take him out tho just a little extra grit)
Value:
Edmundson - 1 & 2; he's better than chiarot and chiarot got basically that last year, Monahan - 2nd; with half retained I think it's fair, could probably go for a bit more but Edmundson is already costly
Pezzetta and Lizotte just switch; maybe lizotte has a bit more value but you could always add a pick from Montreal's side

With hutson, harris, xhekaj, guhle, and norlinder all better with higher potential he's never gonna make this team unless something drastic changes. Colorado don't have prospects in bulk which is why I think there's a chance they settle for something similar to this.

Chychrun goes to Habs
I don't see why Montreal would do this. One of the things that boosts chychrun's value is his contract, but by the time montreal competes again they'll have to renew him lol. Plus i don't think they like the idea too much of shipping away their second best prospect, their best goalie prospect (who's not great but still got time), and 2 firsts.

First 9 games
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Where is the logic behind the Habs trade? Montreal is moving 3 good prospects who are happy and playing well and a 3rd for 2 disgruntled prospects who both want out of NY. All 5 prospects have similar value and have the same level of skill but somehow Montreal has to add on to this deal?! The only prospect in the deal that the Habs have a need for is Lundkvist and like Lirik said Mysak one for one is enough to do that.</div></div>
The problem with the prospects montreal are giving up is that they don't look like they will be more than depth players in Montreal, so giving them up for 2 players who have a slightly higher ceiling but maybe a lower floor isn't that big of a problem

Thread:
Hughes goes for his guys
Explanation: NYR are shopping Lundkvist and even though they may not be actively shopping Kratsov he is by no means untouchable. Hughes is still interested in his old players and decides to make a move.
Why it makes sense for NYR: While you don't get anything big back, Ylonen is a B level prospect who could break into the lineup soon enough, pezzeta adds great grit, and pitlick is a very good depth piece on a great contract, especially if he can replicate last year's production. On top of that you get a couple decent picks for reassurance.
Why it makes sense for MON: While it may seem a bit odd to give up young players and picks in a rebuild; Ylonen is not gonna be able to develop with the amount of wingers currently, pezzeta is a great guy for the team but you don't need him right now, and pitlick and the picks, while they would be great to keep, are imo worth it to give up to get a couple good young players.
If the trade's a bit undervalue on one side, feel free to add some picks or something.

But I think Anderson would be a good fit there, though I think the 5OA is too high for a straight up deal</div></div>
Allen at 50% retained is an incredibly good value backup/fringe starter. They're not taking his contract on; they're allowing Carter Hart to not have too much pressure on him. 5OA for Anderson alone is a bad deal, which is why Allen and the third (could change to Edmonton's second) are added.

Possibly Realistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>I feel like you just dump Armia to Seattle for Future Considerations - the Kraken taking on 3x$3.4M there is doing you a big favor.
Weber to Arizona feels like a fait accompli at this point, maybe Montreal gets something more considering the crazy savings from cap hit -> actual salary that Weber's deal has.
I think the framework is good (a 1st and a bad contract actually feels weirdly fitting for a Petry trade) but I don't know if Khudobin is healthy enough to backup Price at this point.
Nashville trade is pretty much a no-go. Hoffman has minimal value as a 32 year old goal scorer who stopped scoring goals and is owed 2x$4.5M. Allen is valuable as a backup/1B in a tandem, even more so with retention, but Nashville is a bad landing spot with Juuse Saros being a 60 start goalie - I think another team will offer more for Allen on his own.
I feel like you might upgrade the picks here (2/4?) - obviously Edmonton is dumping Kassian but they're giving up a strong asset in Puljujarvi. It would make more sense for them to shop Pool Party's RFA rights on their own and dump Kassian in a separate deal instead of worsening their return with this 2 birds/1 stone approach.</div></div>
Armia: Sure
Weber: Sure
Hoffman/Allen: Imo hoffman still has a bit of value as a pp guy, but u could also look at it as montreal dumping him if u feel like allen is more valuable then that. Switch the picks up a bit if u want too.
Puljajrvi: Ya sure go ahead and upgrade the picks

Habs won't have to pay to get rid of Weber. Arizona will just take him for free. If the insurance claim goes through they may even give assets to get him.
Hoffman is moved that easily.
Edmonton says no thank you to that. I think they get a better offer for JP</div></div>
Armia: that's fair, heard there was interest after the world cup. Make it a 6th or a 7th if u want.
Weber: Again, fair, nobody really knows how its gonna go but it won't be blockbuster
Hoffman: I assume u meant *isn't* and ig sure but he could rum up a little interest imo
Puljajrvi: Ya maybe, just make the picks a little better if u want but I think the framework is there (could switch the 6th for a 4th or the 3rd for a late 2nd or something)
