You just cant unload Armia and his contract like that.

Savard has been great for us and Leafs could use him though

Savard is a nice shout for a good PK/crease clearing dman, and a definite upgrade on Holl, but not too sure I'd want him in top 4, and its all very dependent on Muzzin definitely not coming back.

The age of the defense with Brodie, Savard, Muzzin, Giordano (and Benn) is reaching world record proportions....

Reilly-Brodie
Muzzin-liljegren
Sandin-Savard
Giordano

sounds solid, with a good mix of grizzled vets and some offensive ability, but is it worth a 1st for Savard (his age, 3.5mil).

And Armia at 3.4mil for 3 yrs is just a bad move

Savard isn't the worst idea but certainly not for a 1st, plus Armia is a dump

If "grit" is so important, why don't the Habs have a better record than the Leafs?

10 points in 10 games for both teams. The ill informed always say the Leafs lack grit when they don't play well. The Leafs problems this year has been the lack of production from Matthews, Marner and Bunting despite lots of ice time and the PP. Having fourth liner Armia at 3.4m doesn't solve the problem for the Leafs.
