Kadri is asking for a 8M contract, but at his age, he will statistically decline in the next few years. He had a career season last year, but I think he won't be able to sustain the same production, so I wouldn't trade Girard to sign him.

You're better with that D squad without Kadri. Give Compher a chance at 2nd C. If it doesn't work, then you could try to get a good and cheaper 2nd C with Girard as trade bait.

I would like to see Newhook as 2C and keep Girard. If Kadri wants too much to stay. Only reason I see Girard trade happening is because they won without him in the lineup and Byram can replace his role.

You should keep Girard and have the best D squad of the league. If you need cap space to resign MacKinnon, Compher, Newhook and Byram, then trade him at the draft. But with Cogliano, Johnson and Helm leaving, this should be enough to resign all of them, without trading Girard.
