Why is this unfortunate? Carolina has a reach to 2 of the 20 largest cities in the US. Making hockey work in NC could bring huge revenues into the sport, making the league better known, raising the cap and bringing more excitement.

See, I disagree. This Canes team is very likable, even to a lot of people who aren't Canes fans. They're fun, good, talented, and a good team to watch. Yes, that's going to be a pain to other teams, but would you rather it be Carolina or a team like Boston
