What do the leafs get for taking Stanley

The Jets aren't adding to Stanley to trade him for an expensive rental they don't need.

Leafs are currently ~1.5M over the cap. With so few teams with available cap space and Kerfoots current cap hit, you would be lucky to get something back for him.
The fact that Vegas got nothing for Patches and Coghlan should speak volumes on how valuable cap space is.
My guess is you see a few players moved shortly for future considerations or late picks/c prospects.

So i ask again, what do the leafs get for taking back a terrible player that will count against their cap space if it is so valuable?

I’ll take Stanley at 900K over Kerfoot at 3.5M. Stanley as a depth defender or used as a reclamation trade is much more useful with how valuable cap space is.

Vegas operates on a different level than other teams, so using them as a comparable doesnt work.
Kerfoot also has a significantly lower cap hit, makes less than 1 mill in actual cash this year and is a significantly more versatile player than patches
