to create cap space, there are UFAs available that can do what Ryan does, if not more for league minimum.

and then you have literally no one to take right handed draws, not to mention that Ryan is unreal at defensive zone draws. Its tough to find a 4th line guy like that, especially now. Very good defensive/two way player for the cap hit.

Like i said there are UFAs available that can fill that spot for less. Ryan is overpaid, he wouldnt even get picked up off waivers. Send him to the A, sign Gagner for 4th line CRW. He is 3 yrs younger, played in all situations last yr, up and down the lineup and would probably take a league minimum deal. Holland needs to quit overpaying 4th line guys, Janmark is another example.

Derek ryan is a good bottom 6 player who has a knack in the faceoff circle he is far from the problem. janmark is not the problem either he has the same stats as foegele. You never go wrong on a 1.25x1 deal. The problem is right now there are no teams who want foegele's cap without edmonton paying dearly to move him.
