Montreal would have to add cap to move Allen for Karlsson. And Vegas would have to add high draft or potentially picks to acquire Allen and for Montreal to take Karlsson.

The jump from Allen's contract to Karlsson probably means the Habs are sending back a cap dump like Byron or Armia. You'd probably have to add an asset or two to entice the Habs to take on yet another long term contract. Your depth's also looking really thin now

Honestly, I don't think the Habs would even entertain bringing in Karlsson at this point. Habs have enough long term contracts as is and are rebuilding. Allen for a pick or no deal.
