Dvorak is not a fit for the Isles.

It'll take at least a 2023 2nd to eat Drouins contract. Maybe it's the lowest of the 2023 1sts and you get Min 3rd back.

You dont have to pay to dump Drouin. You keep him. They arent in cap trouble. If he actually performs and can remain healthy with his wrist issues then maybe you get an asset at the TDL otherwise let him walk. He said himself he will probably never be 100% with his wrist injury.

You cant trade Allen with the Price news. Montreal doesnt want to win games, necessarily but they want to remain competitive to sell tickets. Allen isnt going anywhere and they may extend him.

The Dvorak trade is pointless. Beauvilier value isnt that high in this market. He wouldnt even get a 2nd on his own. He's a late 1st that has never performed consistently above 39 pts yet is paid like a top6 winger ala Toffoli and the Isles have been trying to move him all Summer but my guess is that they dont want to pay to move his 2 year term.

There is no need. They dont have cap issues with the Price news and arent contending. Having players like Dadonov, Drouin and Monahan are assets to them that can be flipped at retention later on.

The contracts they want to move are Armia and Hoffman that have term with their crowded wings.

okay, that's fine, I am saying moving ~5 mil in cap space this season takes at least a 2023 2nd, not a 4th, especially after they got a 1st to eat 6 mil. The fact that they don't need to move him is immaterial to that statement.

It means everything! If he's moved, he will go for an asset. Montreal isn't Vegas or Calgary, they arent paying to compete and fit in other contracts. They have no pressure point. The leverage every team has means something. Monahan was only moved for a 1st because it was predicated on the Kadri move. Montreal just set the market.

No, it really means nothing, because Anaheim doesn't take him without at least a 2023 2nd (or equivalent) attached for FC. If you think he has any positive value, shop him to a team that will buy him in your own ACGM. The fact that you don't NEED to move him doesn't lower the demand from a team you want to dump him on, it just means the deal likely doesn't get done.

You just stated that Montreal got a 1st but you ignore the fact that circumstances that led to the 1st have a short window. Calgary doesnt trade a 1st without the Kadri deal in place. You are making a weird narrative. I have no clue what you are trying to say. It makes no sense. You are arguing for the sake of arguing.

I don't think the Islanders were ever really looking to trade him. As you said his value this off-season is the lowest it has ever been. I think with all the Kadri speculation people looked at Beauviller as a potential candidate to get moved because he is only 25 and has shown he can play. (Ala Oliver Bjorkstrand type deal) I agree his point totals are meh, but Trotz's system doesn't help anybody lol. I could see him being a 45-50 point winger on a more offensive team. He has been good come playoff time. 14 points in 22 games in 2019-2020 and 13 points in 19 games in 2020-2021.

Montreal just got a 1st to eat a 6.3 million dollar contract. There is no way any other cap dump team in the league takes less than a 2nd in order to eat a ~5 million dollar contract. If you don't want to pay a 2nd to move Drouin, then keep him. If you call Anaheim and offer Drouin with a 4th, they hang up.

The fact that Montreal isn't bent over the proverbial cap barrel doesn't matter to Anaheim, plenty of other teams still need the cap space and/or want to sign FAs, and will pay handsomely to get that space. Our 5 mil in cape space is for sale to the highest bidder, and a 2023 4th rounder is not it. There is no way Anaheim is paying 5.5 million in real money and occupying a roster spot for the season for only a 4th round pick.
