Soon to be 26-year old Dmen who have yet to make the NHL don't typically return an asset like a 2nd. Lower your expectations.

Maybe… probably… but the pick and player in this scenario don’t really matter. It’s more about moving a D contract out. Could be Mackey, could be Valimaki, could be somebody else. The fact is that the flames have 10 D on NHL contracts and one will need to go.
