Add a 2nd from Edmonton and the Jets might talk. No one is taking a cap dump without compensation at this point in the off season.

I would argue a really good top 9 solid top 4D and decent goaltending. to me with all the losses in Colorado it’s Oilers and Calgary as the teams to beat out west.

I wouldn’t say he is a cap dump, he provides a quality depth and solid defense, maybe a touch overpaid but not a bad player to have on your team!

Yeah, but at this point of the off season there is no reason to do them a favour and help them with their cap without being compensated to do so.

Might as well get something for doing them a favour. He's not a difference maker, so it's no big deal if they don't get him. Winnipeg has their own cap issues, so if they want Winnipeg to take him they can pay for it. Or figure it out on their own.
