The Canucks aren't getting enough back from Garland, and aren't giving up nearly enough in the other two trades. Every trade is declined.

Garland is one of the last guys we should be trading

We have like 7 wingers with top 6 potential, shipping one of them off to shore up our defense is a good idea, especially if it means getting a top tier defense prospect in return

Then Miller should be the guy we trade; signing him to a long-term contract is a mistake and Garland is on a great contract and was one of our best players last year.

Eh, Iorio looks amazing, this assumes he'll be NHL ready for 23-24 which looks very likely, and we have too many wingers. It's a good trade

Garland didn't even put up 20 goals and barely had half as many points as Miller. Sure he's younger, but not by that much. In what way is Garland better than Miller?

The Canucks are getting a top tier defense prospect, what more do you want? This is assuming Iorio continues to develop, this trade would be at the end of next season, at which point we'll know more about Iorio's trajectory. If he doesn't live up to the hype, then of course we shouldn't trade for him, but this assumes he does, in which case trading for him is a great idea.

Chychrun is probably more expensive than that, most likely at least another 2nd, so I agree there. The Pearson/Poolman cap dumb isn't too far off. Pearson is a usable top 9 player, so the value he brings essentially neutralizes his trade value, and the 3rd round pick pays for Poolman's contract. I think it's definitely a possible trade.

1. We get more value for Miller 2. if we sign miller to a 7x8 contract the last few years when he's in his mid-30s could be quite rough. We save over 2 million $ by trading him instead of Garland, while also giving Pod an opportunity to slide into Millers' role

Canucks aren’t getting enough back for Garland. Their getting a I’d round pick and a bottom six AHL player for a top six player. EW. Canucks turn down that offer immediately.

"bottom six AHL player" he's literally a defenseman, what are you even talking about?

Also, I know canucks fans don't like this, but Garland is closer to a fringe top 6, even middle 6 player. he's not exactly a high end talent, he barely had 50 pts last season, and only 19 goals.

Garland had the same p/60 at 5v5 as Sebastian Aho last season. Would you call Aho a middling player too?

Garland was top 30 in the league at 5v5 points last season
