Love Caufield, but I don’t think NJD does that. FWIW, it sounded like we were willing to move #2nd pick / Nemec for Matthew Tkachuk but not for DeBrincat.

I think montreal would have to add. I think Nemec may very well be the best player from this past draft even if caufield was to turn into a steady 40 goal scorer, a top pair RD isnt easy to come by.

caufield is more proven though. Evens out IMO.

I agree with that, but if you look at the trend in the nhl right now RD is one of the most sought after pieces, We've seen many fringe top pairing RD got insane money thrown at them over the last few years. Its that positional need that I think would give nemec a bit more value (assuming he develops as expected) certainly some risk there for sure.
