Additional Details:
Conditional 2025 3rd round pick (LAK): If Jack Rathbone is extended or resigns after his contract ends in 2024, the pick is replaced by the Kings 2025 2nd round pick.

LA still have a logjam of RD: Durzi, Clarke, Spence, Roy, etc. and are in need of left defenseman. As for the Canucks, Rathbone won't have many opportunities playing the third LD behind Hughes and OEL. This trade fills our needs and eliminates the concern of ruining Rathbone's development.
LAK
  1. DiPietro, Michael
  2. Rathbone, Jack
  3. 2024 6th round pick (VAN)
  4. 2025 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Conditional 2025 1st round pick (VAN): Canucks have the choice between the 2025 and 2026 first if their pick lands in the top 10 in 2025.

Tyler Myers isn't the type of defenceman we're looking for so this doesn't solve anything for us.

I'm not a big Myers fan but he IS quite a bit better than Zaitsev and I don't see Tychonick ever suiting up for Ottawa. And I don't really care about the 3rd we're giving up for the swap.
Even if the plan is to retain a little more and move Myers elsewhere... way easier to get HIM off the books than Zaitsev.
YEAH. I'll take it.

You can't make picks conditional upon a player's re-signing any more.

No need for Milano when Kuzmenko, Podkolzin and Hoglander are right there
