Huge savings on buying out OEL. Package a second with Myers- go big on the back end in free agency. Not sure on the contract values for FA's but you've got $14m to spend on three guys if you've got a min contract in the 6 spot.

Calgary happily gives Weegar that contract. As does Waashington with Orlov.

The going rate for a 6-mil cap dump is a 1st rd pick. See Marleau, Monahan...

This is not the way.

That OEL buyout is crippling in other years; better to keep him around for a while before considering that option.

Updated some options and bumped Weegars salary- the point is to show that there are still lots of options. You probably keep Myers for the last year of the contract if it costs a first. The second year of the OEL buy-out the league is expecting a large jump in the salary cap, could end up being a wash for next two years.
