Drouin is a cap dump, no one pays to take on cap dumps. Add a first and Montreal's second next year if you want to return a 2nd.

I will consider to trade Kidney over Mysak.

Mysak is the next Plekanec for the Habs.

GM never said he won't play, said he'll play if that's the best for development. I think as long as Slafkovsky plays with Suzuki and CC and gets good ice time, he will produce. If hes on any other line, he should be in the AHL imo cause he won't have 2 other players driving the play for him.

For some silly reason, Montreal fans are convinced their cap dumps are worth something to other teams. However, this off season has shown us that it costs assets to move out cap dumps. Drouin definitely costs assets to move.

Provide an example of a situation where a cap dump, with nothing added to him, returns a 2nd.

if you weren't so nimble you'd notice I retained half of drouin's salary, making him a 2.7 mil player who was on pace for 48 points last year. Thats good value for a team like Winnipeg that could use some offensive depth. If anything you could say maybe we receive a 3rd round pick instead of a 2nd, but no you decide to say were adding potentially Connor Bedard to "cap dump" 2.7 mil. The habs don't need cap space, this trade improves the jets roster.

First, no one cares what his pace was. The fact is he can't stay in the lineup, so pace for him is meaningless.

If the Jets did feel like doing something stupid, they can just wait for Drouin to hit UFA next year and sign him for what he's worth, league minimum. Until then Montreal is stuck with him, he's not worth wasting a contract or roster space or pick on.

Secondly, I also didn't say Montreal's first, I said "a first". We've learned this summer that dumping cap is expensive, so if Montreal wants to dump Drouin, it will cost them. Retaining 50% of his salary helps, but you're still asking a team to do you a favour and waste almost $3.0 mil of their cap space on a useless player. That likely costs you a first, so if you're paying a first to dump Drouin and want to return a 2nd, you'll need to add Montreal's 2nd.

Getting rid of cap dumps isn't cheap.
