I don't see LA doing the favor of taking Zaitsev , especially with no payment for doing so ,

That does nothing for Ottawa. They aren't a cap team, they are a budget team. Walker is owed 6.35M over the next two years. Zaitsev is owed 7M since his bonus was paid. Additionally, it increases the Senators payroll this season, which would probably be a deal breaker since they are still trying to add.

From the Kings side of things, they are a cap team. So it doesn't make sense to acquire the player with the greater cap hit. Even if it comes with a small sweetener.

Both players are negative value. It makes no real sense for either side.
