Canucks Line Combos Read Description

Description
Taxi Squad is for mid-season callups

-Podkolzin-Pettersson-Garland line showed hints of brilliance last year

-Miller and Boeser have been glued together for a while. Kuzmenko is a good player to complete the trio

-Horvat and Hoglander have played together and done fairly well. Hopefully Hoglander bounces back playing alongside cap. Mikheyev brings much needed speed to the forward group

-Fourth line is where things can get shuffled. Lazar is likely a lock. Hopefully Tanner Pearson is moved because he is not a fourth line player, but we really don't have room for him in the top 9. Joshua likely is on the NHL roster as GM Allvin seems to like him. Would like to see Lockwood get some time especially if he does well in training camp. Other players in the taxi squad are callups in case of injury, or youngsters who could get a few games in if things go south near the end of the year
-Quinn Hughes relocated to RD. Can be OEL but Hughes-OEL is the main goal

-De Haan stay at home d man to backup the chaos giraffe Myers

-Schenn playing with Rathbone acting as mentor like he did with Hughes

Powerplay 1 stays pretty much the same.
Powerplay 2 has no center. Will start shifts on the fly.

Penalty Kill 1 has improved with recent additions
Penalty Kill 2 includes Pettersson and Hughes who used their high hockey IQ to prevent goals against last year. I tried something new hwhich is to include 3 d men and only 1 forward.

Demko will be the starter, likely playing around 60 games
Martin hopefully provides steady numbers playing around 20 games.

Overall, I think if everybody is playing as good as they can, this can definitely be a playoff team. I have no worries about out offense. Defense wise, it may be a bit concerning but Demko has shown he can carry this team further than they should.

GM didn't just sign a player to 4.75 mil AAV to play 3rd line minutes. I could almost guarantee Mikheyev is on the 2nd line above Kuzmenko.

I think you are pretty much right on the money.I also think that if the top nine could be interchangable we could have several different looks.keep teams off balance.IMHO

Feel like Nuck fans will fall in love with Joshua, a big body, 6’3” and at least 200 pounds, but he moves around the ice extremely well for his size. He plays a strong and physical two-way game and wins faceoffs. Joshua also won 40 of the 75 faceoffs he got to take for a 53.3% success percentage. He led the St. Louis Blues with a huge 18.13 hits-per-60.

Our forward core is constructed in a way where we basically have 2 first lines and a second line. The Horvat line won't be getting 3rd line minutes. We will be rolling the three top 9 lines almost equally

Forward line combinations can definitely moved around in various combinations.

Definitely like the addition to the fourth line. If Pearson is moved, it would leave a room for Lockwood who is also a very tenacious and tough bottom 6 forward. We would finally have some physicality outside of Schenn

Love our forward additions this year, gives the coaches so many options. The players signed fill every hole we had in the forward group on paper. This team still needs a top 4 RH defenseman though, and I wouldnt be suprised to see them acquire one sometime soon. Hopefully they dont feel the need to overpay for one but that may be the reality at this point.

Id try to keep Dickinson on the Roster and sign De haan for 1.3M. If we sign De haan at 1.5M it locks the team into having to send one of Poolman, Dermott or Dickinson to the AHL.

Dont see what is so unreasonable about that. We are going to be rolling 3 lines that all get fairly equal ice time. Yeah that sounds extremely unrealistic and unlikely to happen. Im sure you know better than all of us
