As much as i'd like the Wild to have more draft picks...no chance they give you Granlund for that mediocre haul! Because of how weak this year's draft is, that's basically two 2nds and a 3rd you are offering here...

That was just the compensation for signing him as an RFA. I believe it may have to be all this year's 1st,2nd, and 3rd so I am not sure the blues could do it anyway

You'd be signing him after July 1st, so draft picks would be 2018 picks. Also, the way the offer sheet rules are set up the compensation would be 2018 1st 2nd 3rd and 2019 1st. Not sure you'd want to give up that many picks to a division rival.

Over $5,632,847 to $7,510,464 First, second and third-round pick ... this was last year and if the cap were to go up 2 mil or so and if you were to sign then you could still get him. all draft picks has to be for next year and you guys do have that too.

It would be 2 firsts, a second and third. As you can see the Blues don't really have the cap for this deal. Can't you wait till next year when Stastny departs and sign a UFA or go after a team with cap problems.

It's more than a 5 year deal so the AAV is determined by dividing by 5, not 7. At $42,000,000 total, that would make it $8,400,000 AAV for compensation purposes. That makes it 2 firsts, a second, and a third.

Pointless speculation. They'd never move Granlund in the division and certainly not for draft choices. This one isn't even close.

They're saying STL gets him to sign an offer sheet so the picks are the compensation, not part of a trade. We wouldn't trade him for just picks anyway. I doubt they would want to give up 2 firsts, a second, and a third in the division either way.

Two 1sts. a 2nd, and a 3rd (all mid-round picks )for Granlund, or match at $6m/yr. That's a hard decision for me as a Wild fan. I like the picks and the open cap space. I don't like Granny staying in the Division.

Coin flip for me. But if there was a secondary trade for a FWD to replace Granny, I think I take the picks and run.
