Idea for a Anderson deal

Created by: JulHok92

Description
I had this idea for a Anderson deal to PIT.

The logic is that the Pens are in win-now mode and the Anderson contract doesn't really matter to them. He's an upgrade over Zucker RIGHT NOW in their top6.

So,
Zucker (half-retained) + McGinn = 5,5M$ (same money-in/money-out for this year)

- McGinn is 2,75M$ for the 2yrs after that so Anderson really only costs PIT 2,75M$ as well.

- The two more years are at the full 5,5M$ price but that's a tomorrow problem for the Pens.

Blomqvist OR Poulin as prospects of need in MTL and the second OR third in 2024 to match the value.

Thoughts?
Lines don't matter

Zucker could be flipped at TDL
McGinn as a mentor for role guys

MTL
  1. Blomqvist, Joel [Reserve List]
  2. McGinn, Brock

5.5 million for 5 years is a big contract for an average 3rd liner idk if Pittsburgh would want him

Pens will take their chances with Zucker for 1 year. They're not going to pay someone else to take him.

Unrealistic, Kent Hughes said he doesn’t want to trade Anderson, they like him. They want a fast team, Samuel Poulin is the opposite of fast. MTL are better keeping Anderson around for the remaining of his contract

No chance penguins take on a 5 year 5.5mil cap dump for an average player who can't stay healthy and disappears in the playoffs while also giving up picks and prospects. Drop retention on zucker and retain half on anderson. Then maybe the pens are interested.

Not trading Anderson for that return. Pens dont have one noteworthy prospect. Despite what this forum incorrectly thinks, Anderson is indeed valuable, and is irreplaceable on the Habs.
