RoR is also a good buddy still. Fingers crossed for next offseason lol.

The friendship angle doesn't carry the weight it used to but in the pre salary era a lot of things were different. On the Stanley Cup press day pretty much all the Colorado players couldn't stop talking about how good Makar is and rightfully. Now in one the interviews Makar did he couldn't stop talking about how good Toews and how well they play together. But you are right in the salary cap era that doesn't mean much. Now I know top player lists don't carry a lot of weight but on The NHL Network's top 20 defensemen right now Toews was ranked 8th without Makar does he crack the top 10 or even make the list? I'mjust saying the chemistry they have doesn't happen often.

When the F.A already has a cup, it means even less. I can still hope and dream lol

Canucks counter with Rathbone, a 2024 1st, a 2025 2nd and other pieces as suggested

I like Rathbone but Avs probably won't want a LHD in return since they'll have Behrens stepping up to take Toews spot in the top 6.

      I'll counter with 2023 1st + Podkolzin + 2nd + prospect. Or Horvat signed.

You'd have to sign Horvat prior to the 2023 off-season for that to work. Toews wouldn't get traded prior to 2023.
