Both teams pass. I have no idea why you think Soucy is so cheap.

Well, the 23 1st is very nice, but the Blues aren't rebuilding, so that probably won't help for a few years (I don't think the Isles will be as bad as they were much of last season). Beyond that, Bailey is decent as a middle 6 guy, but he's a pass first guy (not what they need) and his contract causes a big cap problem next summer. Then there's Wilde (no interest) and Raty, who isn't nearly the prospect some seem to think he is. More importantly, his fluctuating effort level would not fit well in STL anyway, SO it's a big stack of meh for a contender's leading scorer/elite shot driver. They've probably already rejected more enticing offers.

he’s also 30, is a UFA next year who has not been shy about wanting to leave STL in the past, and has an extensive injury history. Raty is exactly the prospect he is believed to be, as his age 19 season in the Liiga compare very nicely to top NHL players from the Liiga in their age 19 season (Anton Lundell is the most recent example). Not to mention, you get a 1st round pick in one of the most loaded draft classes in a while. Isles hard pass this deal

Wow, okay. First of all, Tarasenko does NOT have an extensive injury history. He he had one injury that was not properly repaired but is obviously in the past now, and other than that he's been among the most durable forwards in the league. As for Raty, he's a below average skater, especially for his size, and like I said effort level would be a major issue for the Blues brass and coach. He's nowhere near Lundell in quality. But I never said the Isles would do this deal, I just said the Blues would not.
