Obviously the goal would be to make the team. Not sure how the D pairs will end up so I just put him on the roster to account for the cap hit.

If Kerfoot were a rental RW, we might pay a fourth for him on the theory that (1) he might be helpful to us, and (2) we might be able to get back what we'd invested in him (or more) at the trade deadline. But being a left-handed forward (LW/C) and costing a second are two things that make this trade offer extremely unappealing.
