Description

Subban signs a PTO with the Wings as a former Norris Trophy winner and experienced vet. Will play his off side for some added offense from the blueline which allows Lindstrom to play over Oesterle and sends Hagg down to GR. Gives Edvinsson a year to develop and if he plays well could be traded at the deadline to a contender if the Wings are not in a playoff position.
Galchenyuk signs a PTO with the Wings as a still fairly young, versatile player that can play any forward postion. Former 30 goal scorer and top 3 draft pick. Can be the 13th/14th forward over Smith, who provides little offense and might be best served to be sent down to GR to work on his game or possibly be picked up by another team.

They're PTO's.... it's injury insurance and a chance to see if either guy has anything left in the tank. If after preseason, you still say no thanks , that's fine but at least then you get a look at some guys.

Every shift, every rep, every conversation wasted on those guys are ones that should be spent on our prospects. If someone is being given a chance to kick the door in and TAKE a job, I want it to be the likes of Berggren or Soderblom, or on the defensive side, Johansson, Wallinder, Viro, Sebrango or some guy named Edvinsson.

Ultimately, as a PTO, it is what it is, just seems counterproductive on guys that look wholely cooked.

Subban is not signing a PTO with any team, that was all but confirmed today by quotes from his agent and what was reported

He is waiting for the rightt fit and offer, which is believed to be around 1 year 2m aav
