If the flames don't make a move from now until the deadline our 2.4 million in cap space will turn into about 9 million enough to afford Blake Wheeer, To start with the Flames if they are in a good spot and everything looks to be going good a power forward like Blake Wheeler for the second line would be deadly, he is the ultimate sutter player the only downfall is his 2 year contract so that is why the flames send out kylington to try and make some space so we could maybe still sign weager this offseason and also if we are making this trade its to try and put us over the edge so thats why we are giving up the first and 3rd also if Wheeler is a good attitude in the locker room and ages well he could help us next year even if his attitudes bad he could be our Evander Kane, On the Winnipeg side this would make sense if they were out of a playoff spot and wanted to change stuff up, they get rid of wheeler and his contract which would also change the dynamic in the dressing room (kinda like avs and Duchene) in return for Wheeler they get a first round pick to move along their retool and Oilver Kylington a young defenseman who could help out their lacking D core and they get him on a two year contract so they could reflip him next year if they wanted to. Flames also bring back Dave in case of goalie injuries and he's a great lockey room guy, and this trade only works out if Wheeler waives his clause. tell me if I missed anything and give me your thoughts.

Interesting thought, I guess we'll see how the season plays out and go from there. If we're giving up a 1st, I'd like a later Pick or Prospect back and WPG can keep Rittich, I don't see us needing his services

yeah, a 1st your banking on it being 32nd pick if your trading it. I hope we hold off at the deadline get 9mil in cap space and go from there see what we need

Yeah Wheeler's contract being 2 years isn't ideal, especially if ppl feel Coronato will be ready, but it is possible. Would just need to move Toffoli, Hanifin and Zadorov out in the off-season to clear space for him. Wheeler doesn't exactly sound like the Greatest Team Player though and he's older, so you gotta wonder when his play will start to drop off and whether that'll be a steady decline or a falling off the cliff type drop in production

Yeah for sure trading for him just wouldn't really be worth it, your spot on
