I like Othmann, like a lot... But first line? straight from junior hockey... Maybe switch Laffy and Othmann? For my money at least...

I like how Othmann played last night, as well. Very exciting for the future. But I think this is a little too much to ask of him at this stage. Probably best for him to tear up the OHL for one more year.

Last night Othmann really did look up to playing in the NHL....and worthy of real minutes. Especially gotta love how he responded after getting his bell rung. In the end though, I think 2 guys are gonna get cut-who absolutely belong with the team AND with a big role: Jones and Rydahl. They will be cut because they don't need waivers to go to Hartford. Unless Hajek is putrid, he will be 6D in an attempt to build trade value. When Hajek is eventually moved, Jones will assume his deserved position with this team. As far as Rydahl, he'll win the battle vs. Carpenter...but starting him in Hartford will keep someone (Gaut, Hunt, Vesey??) off the waiver wire...in the end, NYR can make this tough decision a bit easier- by cutting the deadest of dead wood- Reaves- a move which in itself would keep 2 guys off the waiver wire...but NYR will find some justification to keeping their most useless (and way over paid forward) with the team!

Rydall looks like a prototypical 4C. He had a solid game, moves well, is crafty, and is strong in the PK. Waiver-exempt so probably sent down to serve as cheap depth.

If Othmann breaks camp with the Rangers, then it must be a commit to the whole season, no 9-game run. Otherwise, seasonal depth will be hurt a lot.

The kid line needs to be broken up at this point... we cant have a 1OA and a 2OA getting third line minutes. Id rather see a kid line 2.0 of Othmann, Chytil, Krav
