In other words, some trades that won’t happen. Yotes aren’t going to give up anything for Pearson, you will have to pay to move him. As for the Canes trade make the 2nd a 1st and the 4th a 3rd and Canes accept. Since you won’t be dumping Poolman on the Canes for free, and the Canes can’t afford to bring my Poolman in before Patches is back, just to dump him at the deadline.

It says for the Pearson deal. "Anywhere for a 3rd or 4th" doesn't have to be Arizona. I believe the going price for Bear is a 2nd. The 4th is to take on the extra cap from the Poolman contract he would also replace Bear in the canes contract.

I don’t think you understand. Canes already have 4 NHL caliber RHD, and 5 with Bear. Swapping Bear out for Poolman is pointless, especially when Vancouver isn’t adding any incentive to take on Poolman. And the Canes won’t take on Poolman just to have to dump him at the deadline. Besides, Poolman would be RHD5 on the depth chart, since 3RD is Coghlan’s spot to lose right now. And with Chatfield being the first call up, wasting cap space on Poolman is quite dumb. So unless Vancouver is upgrading those picks as incentive to take on Poolman, there is no reason for the Canes to consider that deal.
