I disagree foegele and barrie hold no value and are salary dumps. Derek Ryan is a 4th liner and is expendable. Chychrun is a high end top 4 defender and would be a solid add, and soucy is pretty good defender aswell and would be similar to brett kulak.

I disagree but I feel slightly different about Barrie. Although there isn’t a market for Barrie right now he’s still a serviceable offensive D. And trading him/adding to move him would not be in the Oilers best interest. But adding him to trade the oilers receive a overall better D is the move. I still think it’s a bit much for a guy who nobody is willing to give up ARZ asking price. Maybe his injury’s could be worse then the media/fan base is being let on but idk. Also Broberg still has high potential, could end up playing a chychruns level, or at least a solid second pair D. However, as it stand today, if these trades were to happen, the oilers have a better overall D core.

I feel that if chychrun gets traded to oilers he will have much better offensive impact than barrie since he will be on a much better team than the yotes. He would likely return to his scoring pace during the 2020-2021 season were he was on pace for 60 points in an 82 game season. I also feel like barries cap hit is to high and he too much of a liability in the d zone to have teams wanting him.

Not just Sonny Milano, but Sonny Milano at $900,000?

How did you get “there”?

I am not understanding how you figure Chychrun’s 50 games this season will = all those other guys. He is simply not worth that, such a massive risk.

I would do Barrie + a 3rd, nothing more. Barrie is valuable to this team.

Losing Ryan and replacing him with Janmark only hurts this team.

Of course you disagree - you made this AGM!

You severely undervalue the Oilers players and your overvaluing non-Oilers players. Classic case of DoD PTSD.

Chychrun is an injury prone offensive defenseman similar to Barrie. He's not good defensively, his own coaches would rather run Gostisbehere, Stralman and Mayo against the opponents best players than Chychrun. Foegele is a similar player to Hagel and Goodrow, he's a valuable player to have around and good teams know it. Yet you gave up Barrie + Foegele + BROBERG + 1st + 2nd + 3rd for Chychrun! Massive overpay.

And then you signed Milano, who got cut from the Flames camp because he's not good enough to make their team. AND you gave him $900k! tears of joy

Soucy is okay, but he's strictly a 3rd pairing guy because he doesn't skate overly well. I don't see a fit... Holland did try to get him at the last deadline but ultimately went for Kulak instead. When he re-signed Kulak in the summer, that closed the door on a Soucy acquisition - and this team hardly needs another 3rd pairing LHD anyhow.

You've just done a bunch of expensive lateral moves that mess with team chemistry without actually addressing any need. I think the results will be worse in the short term and worse in the long term.
