What would it cost for Lizotte

Created by: Leafs_06

Description
I feel like with Kopitar, Danault, Byfield, Vilardi and even Anderson-Dolan it really makes Lizotte expendable. For Toronto, I feel like they could use him as a Kerfoot replacement for cheaper and younger and more responsibly defensively. Anyways, what would it cost for him?

I mean I'm replacing someone whose 5'10 (Kerfoot) for 5'9 and better defensively, younger and cheaper. Shouldn't be too much of a difference ig.

Im all for it. Lizotte would be a great target, granted im not sure LA moves him. Theyd probably want an LD in return and you have to overpay

Except you didn't replace Kerfoot. Kerfoot has M NTC and highly unlikely any team on his trade list would take his full cap.

Frank Seravalli on SN590:

"With Kerfoot, is there a market? 100%. They could move him today quite easily. I think the number of teams that would be interested would be pretty significant."

If Toronto wanted to trade Kerfoot today they would 100% be able to. There are teams that would want him and trade for him for cheap as well.

Kings are looking to get better now. Toronto doesn't have anything that LA wants that helps them get better now. Two mid-round picks that may or may not turn into NHL players in 5+ years don't move the needle for the Kings. They'll just keep Lizotte.

First, can they trade Kerfoot? Sure they can, easily. Can they get value back? No. Theres few teams with the cap space, and those that do have it probably dont want a UFA and wont give up quality.

PHI for example has the cap space and Couterier is injured, so theres a small need for a good forward. But theyre rebuilding, so why would they want a UFA? (Unless he can produce on a worse team and stay healthy to the deadline = and even then theyll want to acquire more than they dealt for him). So yes, Kerfoot could be traded easily, but theres little return coming back. (Think Zack MacEwen and EDM 4th from PHI at most).

Secondly, why do Leaf fans have a fixation on more scoring forwards? On a team that lacks size, physicality/On a team that has a pretty old defense/On a team that has questionable goaltending/BUT most importantly, on a team with a system that scores tons ------- why do they need a scoring forward?

Kerfoot has a M N TC. So he isn't going to a team with cap (a poor team). So what are the options for a a trade, to team on his trade list that can take on his full cap? "Moving him quite easily". Factually incorrect.
