I know this idea has issues, first of all, I am not sure what forwards we would bring up if Burtuzzi goes on IR. This is all based on the idea that if Burtuzzi goes on IR, then maybe it might make sense to bring Soderblum up to the first line. I have read several articles about how Soderblum and Raymond have shown good chemistry together in international hockey, Another idea might be to have a Berggren/Raymond/Soderblum line. Of course this would mean breaking up the Soderblum/Rasmussen/Sundquist line, and I would like to keep that line together. Just kinda thinking what a line with Raymond and Soderblum might look like and how it would effect the rest of the lines. I know this idea has problems, but the idea of putting Raymond and Soderblum on the same line is something that I find intriguing.

It would look a lot like this.

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3710887

Soderblom isn't ready for 1st line minutes and his skating does need work. But he is really good at using his size to keep defenders away so its not as noticeable. With Bertuzzi out I think you will see Perron and Zadina on the 1st line. With a new coach I'm not totally sure what will happen.

I wouldn't be putting Berggren Soderblom and Raymond on a line. Berggren I don't think is a nhl centre and especially coming up to play centre with no nhl time. Plus he's small so he would just get pushed around at centre. I would like to see them being up Pearson or Andreasson and see how they do at the nhl level. Both are waiver exempt but if not then probably just Hirose or Criscuolo. I really want them to put Zadina in, even if it's just third line.

Thought about this after, I guess Soderblom could play centre but that also seems a little much for him right now.

I thank you for your thoughts. You both make great points. Just trying to see what things might look like with Raymond and Soderblum on the same line, given that they have been on the same line before and showed good chemistry. Perhaps it's best to scrap that idea, at least doe the time being. Like I said in the first post, this idea has a lot of issues.

I think that's putting too much on Soderblom so early and I really like his chemistry with Ras. With how young he is, I think keeping him insulated is the best bet. To me, you either bump Zadina into a sink or swim role, or just move on from him and bump up Kubalik.

I think Vrana would benefit the most but moving up on that 1st line. Put kubalik with perron and Copp. I do think that even in the small time we've seen Larkin and Copp on the Ice together that there is something there. I know we signed him to center that 2nd line but I wouldn't hate Copp on that wing with Larkin and Raymond. Let suter or veleno center the 2nd line and see how it goes for a while.

I had that thought too. I think Larkin and Raymond need some sandpaper on their line too, so to me, Perron, Kubalik or, if they're willing to really shake things up, Copp are the best bets there.
