Miller with a sweet little backhand pass to the help set up the goal. Joe had two assists tonight giving him 23 points in 27 games.

Matthew Knies now has seven game winning goals this year. That leads the NCAA. Carter Mazur is in second with five.

Really wish he didnt have another year in the KHL as to me this kid could push for a 4th line job next year. Hes got the talent, ferocity, size, and hey if not would probs dominate the AHL then come up lul

With little draft capital in the next two years, finding some undrafted talent will be essential. Some great targets here (Hayes, Hardie, McGurn, and Larsen) have all attended Leafs development camps.

Not to mention this is some great College talent that could be available.

Really big fan of Veeti’s teammate Krannila

Draft capital will be interesting as I wonder if Matthews and Dubas agree on an extension but Nylander decides not to, do you sell high on him

And im not saying we should but if hes planning to walk or other circumstances happen could be worth exploring.

Kind of like what Tampa did with JTM

My favourite undrafted targets are McAllister, Fimis, and Hayes. Tampa had a great nose for undrafted talent and managed to find some instrumental talents. Gourde was a game changer and Tyler Johnson was no push over either

I repeat, this man is too good for the AHL. He now has 14 goals in his last 14 games. McMann had 7 shots on goal on Friday, and 6 on Saturday. He has 6 though two periods tonight.

Beautiful snipe from Ellis. Holmberg with a great pass out front to Ellis and he makes no mistake. His 6th goal of the season and fourth point in as many games.

Put my on record as saying I really think Dubas (and the whole management team) have really put the Leafs in talent hell and future cap hell by trading away so many futures and picks/\
So instead of having cheap young players on ELCs, they will be scrambling to find bottom enders via bottom enders via free agency.
Sorry, few if any undrafted juniors or undrafted college players ever become NHLers or certainly significant NHLers.

IMO Matthews leaves via UFA (to LA). Leafs big decision next season is whether they trade Matthews and Nylander at TDL. As much as Leafs fans think Knies is the next coming, gee the Leafs gotta sign him first. IMO he doesn't sign with the Leafs and leaves with his friend Matthews to LA as college UFA. Leafs do trade Knies to LA to get some asset back.

I don't see your logic here; the Leafs made it a point to not trade any prospects in the huge ROR deal and have plenty of young talent. Knies, Steeves, Robertson, McMann, Anderson, Abruzzese, Holmberg, Kral, and Hollowell all look like serviceable NHL players. Even so, the Leafs ability to find undrafted talent (ie. Mikheyev, Barabanov, McMann, Steeves) has been very good. We also saw pickups like Bunting out of FA that were slam dunks for us. Trading away draft picks is something literally every contending team does. Tampa spent a total of 4 first round picks on Coleman, Goodrow, and Hagel. They were able to identify undrafted talent and won 2 cups as a result. There is absolutely zero chance Matthews leaves via FA (especially if Dubas is brought back) given the sheer amount of cap space Toronto will have. We won't be trading either Matthews or Nylander next TDL because we will be a competing team. Knies wants to sign with the Leafs and ultimately decided to go back to university because he felt he wasn't mature enough and cared about the teams success in the playoffs. To criticize the Leafs for trading away too many futures is a futile effort, as the ROR trade is the only real blockbuster TDL move the Leafs have made, and even with our blunder of a Foligno deal, we have still found some genuine talent in the drafts. The current construction of the Leafs roster is not nearly as bad as people think

I

I always appreciate other opinions, but I don't share the same optimism about Leafs prospects. And really why wouldn't Matthews seek "different pastures after eight season as Leaf? I don't see where the Leafs have all this additional cap (for Matthews) in 24/25. Sure Brodie and Murray are gone, but Sandin and Liljgeren need contracts and do others.

Leafs Draft picks traded by Kyle and what they became:

•Seth Jarvis
•Alexander Pashin
•Jean-Luc Foudy
•Tobias Bjornfoot
•Corson Ceulemans
•Alexander Volkov
•Jacob Olofsson
•Cameron Whynot
•Alex Laferriere
•Niklas Kokko
•Ethan Cardwell
•Sam Rinzel

Outside of Jarvis, who is having a sophomore slump, nobody on this list is helping us win a Cup this year.

Do I wish we had more higher end ceiling players in the system, sure. But for an organization that has spent as much draft capital as we have and still have a middle of the pack farm system speaks to how well they identify players.

What a boneheaded, idiotic, blatantly moronic play here. Zero class or sportsmanship whatsoever. Pathetic stuff from a guy who has also many goals in 3 years as Voit does in his last 10 games
