I do not think that VAN has the players to put together a trade with either TB or COL as the depth pool is still minimal after MG's trading and drafting poorly for so many years. VAN can take on some 'bad' contracts and still put a team on the ice that could be entertaining and provide the younger players with some needed mentoring and experience.


ANA is one team that if KB would accept a trade back to VAN then is able to protect one more player in the ED and save $4 mil. this year. Is this worth Jones?
DAL is another team that could benefit by trading with VAN. By taking on KL's contract, saving DAL $3 mil.(no buy out) is it worth Hintz and Gurianov? (I do not think that VAN could get the 3rd OA pick from DAL)
If JM could be traded to say PHI, which needs a goalie, then VAN could also take JH contact allowing DET to protect PM and saving $5 mi

JS was added so that BS was picked by VGK in the ED.

I think CT is worth more than and 2nd and 3rd pick but it all depends on the market at the time.
Utica will need a specific type of coach so that the players transitioning to the NHL next year will be able to fill the spots of the UFAs. At the end of this year there will be a boat load of money available for RFAs.
