I know you didn't mean to contradict yourself, but you did,

Giroux got a 1st, a 3rd and a former 1st rd pick in Tippet.

Tippet was a pretty decent prospect, and already a vet of 87 NHL games at that point. (and who currently has 5 points in 7 games so far)

Abruzzese is a lesser prospect than Tippet was.

Kerfoot does give them the possibility of a flip, but, lets be honest, if someone wanted Kerfoot, they would trade for him on their own, not go through St-louis.

The biggest issue here is, poor ROR, gets shipped to Toronto and his linemates are Engvall and Jarnkrok.....

Kerfoot would have to be put on the block for a trade for that to be true. He's never been put on the market because he's a valuable player for TO. If he was on the market or was added to a trade to make the cap work, he would be a hot commodity at the deadline. Likely worth a 2nd for sure, perhaps more if he was retained at 50%. So him added to this trade is more assets for St Louis to recoup.

Tippett was not seen as anything close to a good prospect lmaoooooo what

Tippett was widely viewed as a bust and someone who is no more than an average bottom six player. Tippet was about to turn 23, Abruzzese is gonna be like 7/8 months older or so at the time of the trade and has similar value.

But again, Tippett was not traded with the idea that he was ever going to be a top prospect or a top six guy. Lets not pretend like he was. Slightly better than Abruzzese? Sure. But not by much

EDIT:
For reference, Lias Anderson was on a similar track as Owen TIppett, was a center, was drafted higher and younger and was traded for the 60th OVR pick. So valuing TIppett above that is just wrong

1) Andersson was a cancer in the room, and an entitled prick who hadn't demonstrated he was capable of being an NHL-er and wanted prime minutes and attention

2) you're implying Bill Zito has been good with asset management, the Giroux and Chiarot trades show he's been caught overpaying for pieces.

3) Tippet had 32 points in 87 NHL games between 21 and 22 years of age 0.37 PPG
Andersson had 9 points in 64 NHL games before demanding to be traded 0.14 PPG
Abruzzese has 1 point in 9 NHL games in the same age 0.11PPG

Tippet is far from an A-level prospect, but to think Abruzzese is anywhere near comparable to him? yeah, I we can differ in opinions on that one.

i never said that he was comparable, just that both of them were less than what Anderson got. Tippett was not traded as the main piece, or a significant one. .37 ppg sucks. Especially for a 22/23 year old on an offensive strong team

again, you're making assumptions.

his first two seasons, scoring at the supposed "sucky" 0.37 PPG pace, he was averaging 11 mins on your "offensive strong team"

Highly doubt he was playing with Barkov and Hubie.... so, scoring at a 35 point pace with 11 mins a night on average as a 21 and 22 year old is far from sucky, and if you think that is a sucky pace, you're understanding of hockey is limited.

i am not making nay assumptions lmao. He had proven nothing. Like there is a reason that he only played 12-13 minutes a night... because he sucked. Like he couldnt handle 20 minutes. And that is not an assumption, that is how coaching works. If he was playing well on 12 mins a night, he wouldve played more... but he didnt. He never once had a postive WAR season as a Panther. He sucked.

The fact that you are trying to argue that Tippett was traded with legitimate value is preposterous. He was terible. He was below replacement level, he was literally worse than someone making league min

You are talking so confidently on something that you are just so wrong about. 35 point pace is not good. It is not top 6 caliber. It is barely top 9

Setting aside the lame offer, you really need to brush up on your percentages. Forty percent of 7.5M is not more than half of 7.5M, dude.

Hahaha what? What broken?

Heh. Yeah, over a selected 8-game span. How compelling.

The only thing that sucks is your spelling, D- for an attempt at a coherent thought in that wall of text. smile

"you're understanding..." it is your, not you're. I had one typo, you used you're instead of your. Yet I was not backed into a corner so deep to where I needed to resort to being the grammar police

Cute trades, but you remain over the cap by $3M, even with prorating, sending down 2 guys at 750k might not do it.

40% contract retention equals $3m off of O'Reilly's contract
