If you want 50% retention you're dreaming! Even with ZERO retention that's not enough but if you make the pick a 1st they might accept.

Even without the retention it is not enough.

Arizona is looking for a 1st, a good NHL player and a tip.prospect, tou have one of the 3 and then you want retention? Keep dreaming

This would be a bad deal for both teams...

leafs can't afford to give up the last bit of futures they have for a 32yr old broken dman @11.5 mil x 5 years, and yes @11.5mil cause San Jose can't be dumb enough to retain 50% unless they were trading for the 1st overall or equivalent
