Scandella isn't a cap dump. Phones aren't ringing off the hook for him but he's not worth giving up multiple picks for.

You sure about that? He's been arguably below replacement level the past couple of years.

Do you have some historical evidence for a 3 million dollar player representing a 4% cap hit with a year and half left being dumped for multiple picks.

Everybody in St. Louis was souring on him, not hard to notice.

Everybody? How about a few folks and the point still stands. No one gives up multiple picks to drop a 3 mill player to save a year.

Edmonton gave up multiple picks to dump Kassian, NY Rangers gave up multiple picks to dump Nemeth. Moderately high picks too. St. Louis isn't in a rebuild, Army hasn't even declared that there is any definite retool going on, leaving the situations with O'Reilly and Taresenko up in the air. As far as I see, they shouldn't be afraid of paying up to clear a moderate amount of cap space until Armstrong announces his intent on taking a step back with the roster, which he hasn't done yet.
