Description
Ken Holland doesn't do offer sheets. My name is not Ken Holland.

Expansion Draft Protection (7-3-1):

F1: Nielsen (NMC)
F2: Zetterberg
F3: Athanasiou
F4: Mantha
F5: Sheahan
F6: Stajan
F7: Tatar

D1: Ouellet
D2: Jensen
D3: Green (traded after Expansion Draft)

G1: Mrazek

Detroit protects the less-bad contracts, allowing us to expose some decent players on bad contracts (Helm, Abdelkader, DDK).

Keep Entry Draft pick #9 overall, draft Timothy Liljegren.

Have to add 10% of Franzen's cap back in for LTIR ($395,455). Still under cap. Stajan falls off in 2018-19 allowing Svechnikov and another GR guy to wear the winged wheel full-time. $4M falls off cap in 2018-19 between Green and Weiss.

Trade Russo + 3rd for a bottom-6, low-cost player.

Additional Details:
Adjusted per BurnEmUp's comments. I need cap space, you need a goalie, and I assume you're looking to move Stajan for expansion draft reasons. I eat ~25% cap on Jimmy's 2 years left, you eat 36% cap on Stajan's 1 year.

That offer for Werenski is insulting. There is no way that CBJ would trade him, unless they were absolutely blown away. On top of that, they have to give up a pick?

Yeah. I agree with you. That offer is borderline ludicrous. I honestly don't know if Detroit has enough of anything to get Werenski.

No way is Columbus trading Werenski to us, And it would take a far better return then that. And we probably don't even have the pieces for him.

Fair enough, everybody. I'll edit the trade with something entirely new (not with CBJ). smile

Appreciate your input!

Update completed; instead of trading Werenski + Hartnell + 1st (CBJ) for Nyquist + Cholowski + 1st (DET),
I made a trade with CAR: Hanifin (CAR) for Larkin + Nyquist + 3rd (DET)

I am not high. This is a similar trade to Shattenkirk's last season and another EDM fan wrote "I hope Holland calls Chiarelli with this exact offer. I'm opposed to trading 1st round picks generally, but with $3MM retained it looks awfully appealing" in the same trade, except this time I swapped the 4th for a 3rd since we're absorbing so much money in the deal AND protecting him in the draft.

Besides, I challenge your authenticity when you say "top 6 dman".
