why would toronto not just trade for dumba. Also we dont need defense we need offense

we have a top 10 defense in the leauge. why would we trade a first in an incredably stacked draft to fix a positional need we dont partically have. right now we need bottom 6 offense. when our bottom 6 is out there we have like 0 offensive presence. also why the hell would we trade with a divisinal rival rather than the wild themselves?

The guy you folks got a 1st to take? Probably not a fit. Reaves can be sent out for a late pick and Blais is useful for our flawed bottom 6.

Plus you want a young player... Pezzetta is also inferior to Blais. Let's not discuss business if these are the offers presented.

Oh I wasn't saying that the trades above made sense just that the view of needing more offense and not better defense (team defense as a whole not just D men) was a typical Leafs fan view. It wasn't really supposed to be much of a troll (a little though lol) but was more of a you already have a very high powered offense why not go for a few more defensive minded forwards. Not saying these guys are who you should target but a line comprised of guys like Lehkonen-Dvorak-Armia would significantly improve the Leafs team defense.

I'm pretty sure Monahan 50% retained is still more expensive than Blais and Reaves combined... Monahan isn't good enough to fetch a first round pick after just being dumped for one

Team Defence is not what the Leafs need rn, They need to get that 3rd Line to start producing (Though i won’t decline a Top 4 RHD would be beneficial) I doubt the Leafs are moving their 2023 1st, This is supposed to be one of the best draft classes since 2015 a-lot of GM’s will be looking at that Well accept Tampa,Florida & Dallas
