Can you explain why this is positive for the Habs? How does this help the Habs in their goals?

FWIW - I don't think EDM is interested. There are no EDM scouts at the game (link is in french, but you can see the list of scouts scouting the Habs vs Sabres tonight)

B+ prospect, 2nd round draft pick, Young player with potential maybe needing a fresh start, these sounds like things that could attract rebuilders.

Interesting. I think the Habs with their depth right now are looking for Quality over Quantity. I don't think this is a bad deal after looking at it more closely, but I think the Habs would prefer to get 1 strong asset back as opposed to several OK ones.

Anyway, as I posted, EDM is not scouting the Habs so it's not gonna happen.

First trade is bad for Edmonton IMO.

I think Orlov is awesome but that’s a pretty hefty price tag.

Barrie comes off the books before you'll have to give Slaf, Guhle and Dach extensions, and Caufield too if they go the bridge route which wouldn't surprise me. You get a 2nd rounder and a 3rd liner on a good deal, in exchange for what, a middle 6 winger on a bad deal? Seems like a no brainer for the Habs, but I don't think Edmonton should be too interested.

You are right about one thing. EDM is not scouting the Habs games. The rest... well it doesn't really matter what YOU or I think since we know it's not a real possibility, or at least nothing is imminent.
