Stylistically Monahan is a bad fit, and last I checked COL is 3pts out of first place with 3 games in hand missing 3 top 6 forwards and a top 4 dman. They need to get healthy.

They improve the roster by getting healthy not trading for guys that don’t fit what they expect every forward outside of MacKinnon and Rantanen to do. Tell me how Monahan improves what they do when he was never fleet of foot or a particularly tenacious forechecker. COL is the poster children for the team that wants to skate and transition teams to death. Not saying Monahan is incapable of that but at $6M no thanks. Only having one pick in the first 5 rounds which is a first makes it an even easier pass. Good teams don’t make panic moves in November.
