Can't speak for other Caps fans but I'd 100% do that trade. Washington desperately needs a good LD prospect.

I don’t know where that’s coming from. We have LD prospects and we dont desperately need another one. LD is arguably our deepest position aside from center. Fehervary and Alexyev are both 23 years old. Fehervary is a staple in the top 4 and Alexyev may not be what we thought he would be, but I foresee him being at worst our bottom pair left defenseman long term. Re-sign Orlov this off-season and we’re set.

McMichael has more value than Heinola, this just isn’t a good trade for us. He’s 21 years old. How many other players couldn’t crack the NHL at 21 and turned into stars a couple years later? A lot.
