Neither of those players do anything for Arizona. They want draft picks and teenage prospects that they can build around. Both of those guys are older than Chychrun.

Chychrun doesn’t make sense for us
-he’s LH & sucks at RD
-we can’t pay him & Power & Dahlin
-giving up a bunch to get him, to then turn around & flip him in a year or so is just nutty

If we don't start getting better we won't have to worry about signing Dahlin. The Sabres could sign Dahlin to a 10m a year Contract in the off-season and we still would be under the floor by 2m. And that contract wouldn't even kick in until the year after where we are only about 24m under the floor.

Where do u play Chychrun?
I think it’s debatable he makes us better. He sucks at RD. So while it’s great that he could help the 3rd pair, i think we can use the Cap space better elsewhere

He wouldn't be playing RD solely though. Are D naturally shift sides during games. He would make are top4 better. But there's injury issues with him, tough to judge what to give. Arizona isn't gonna get what there asking. And the Pegula's could be pushing this one.

Arizona doesn't need the retention and you are baking the Flip value in as a Buffalo asset . Doesn't work that way. If they do take on a guy they can Flip They're not seeing that return as part of the initial trade value. So yeah this as it stands is a pass

So, most of the time, he’ll be playing in a position he hasn’t been successful at

And even if he was good at it,

He's signed for 2 more years after this one. And Power has played RD, and so has Samuelsson. I be more worried about winning games right know then the Cap. Cause if we don't start you won't have to worry about Dahlin and signing him. I wouldn't give up the farm for Chychrun but he would help. Everyone worries about the Cap, well if we don't get better the Cap will never matter.

If the idea is to put Chychrun on the 3rd pair, then fine
Obviously he’d make the 3rd pair much better
But then we’ve got him for 2years at the most, bc we’ll definitely have to flip him
Can’t pay a 3rd pair guy what he’ll cost

And there no way you’ll convince me he’d work in the top4
Only way I’d believe it is if we shift Power over to RD first, and he looks good there (for an extended period of time, not just a few games)

Take the assets it would cost to get him, and use them to get a real RD, and a legit goalie who can backstop this team until one of the kids are actually ready

I like Chychrun, he’s just a bad fit with us

Samuelsson has played RD all the way back to when he was at the USNDP, No he doesn't play it regularly but he can. Power played RD at Michigan be it not alot, but he has played it. Sabres obviously have no problem with sides for there Dman. That's why loosing Johnson would hurt a bit more cause he plays both sides very well. Like I said I wouldn't give up the farm for him, but he is a talented player and would help us. I would much rather see what Chicago wants for Murphy, think he would be a very good partner for Power, even though his contract is probably a year to long.

Samuelsson & Dahlin should be locked in as partners
Power is just getting going at LD, i don’t think it would be smart to switch him to RD
But, if we actually were gonna trade for Chychrun, Power should be switched to RD now- bc he’s barely done it in the NHL & there’s no way to know that he’d be good on that side
As I’ve stated before, Chychrun is not good at all at RD

And we would have to give up a lot for him

I didn't say that I said the price is dropping as has been reported. Fjordy made a decent offer awhile back, I would probably do that. But again that was before the price drop came out.
