If SDA Gets A Shot Now

Created by: JMEW

Initial Creation Date: Dec. 4, 2022

Description
The leafs recalled SDA, so if they intend on playing him to see how his improved AHL play translates to the NHL, these are the lines I'd go with.

I know Liljegren is right-handed, but I'd rather take out Meta then Hollowell and feel like Timmins needs play him. With Hollowell being so new to the NHL still, I wouldn't want him also playing his off-hand.

Also, Sandin and Timmins have played together before, so I'd pair them up to give Timmins something familiar in his first Leafs games

I'd also like Malgin in place of Kerfoot, but I doubt Keefe would do that.

Did SDA just get called up? If so, I am very surprised he got the nod over Anderson and Steeves!

Mete > Hallowell at this point in their careers. NHL is not a try things out league, he was pretty badly exposed against lightning & stars are a top team too. Hopefully Brodie is available soon 🤞; if not Timmins should play with mete imo

Handy capping ourselves with Hollowell on the second pair after his worst game of his call up and moving Liljegren to his offisde is not the move.

Why do folks think Timmins is near NHL ready at all. He's hasn't been playing. Benn and Brodie will be back. Let's stop this Timmins obsession (at least for this year). Geez he was traded for a 4th line Marlies.

Timmins was injured, then returned to his conditioning game right before Toronto traded for him. They didn't trade for him at that point to not play him.
Hes not going to be one of their top 6 of course, but with the current injuries now is the time to play him and see what they got.

How is even in the top 5 RHD....with Lilgegren, Holl and Hollowell playing and Brodie, and Benn returning soon. Hard to believe the Leafs are going to experiment with the NHL team to "see what they got". Gee if even waived would any team even claim hm and keep him on their NHL roster? How valuable can he be right now, since he traded for a bare AHLer?

This is clearly for when Brodie and Benn are out, I'm obviously not suggesting this D lineup when those two are back.
