I'm not a fan of the JVR and Klingberg deals, I think we could get one asset on the left side that's cheaper than those two smaller deals.

Personally, I think we have too many D-men as is, and I've been super happy with the D-depth so far. I don't think they need another offensive minded d.

Nylander at C is a bit of a stretch, I don't think it's worked before and I'd prefer he get more than 3rd line minutes.

Buffalo would not retain 50% on Olofsson this year and next year and only get that as a return.

I don't love getting rid of Kerfoot unless his cap is needed to be moved out for a legit upgrade. JVR is not the upgrade. I do believe we need a top 6 guy but more on the lines of a Kuzmenko type.

I don't love the Klingberg deal. The Leafs D and D depth have done great this year. I would be interested in a Chychrun type of move, if the price is right and none of our main roster guys go back the other way.

Overall, I don't love any of these moves.

The idea is Nylander runs a line that escapes opposing teams top checkers. I personally think consistent depth scoring and the PP has been an issue for this team in the playoffs. I like the idea of Olofsson because we get an additional year. Who would you propose as the bigger deal for the left side?

I'm pretty basic so I'd go with the SDPN popular one with Timo Meier.

No D required, we’re good there unless you could swing a trade for a legit top 4 RHD, either with term or FA that extends.
I prefer focus on adding impact forward, in no particular order - Kane or Toews, O’Reilly, Meier, Kuzmenko, Koneckny. Will all come down to acquisition cost

Timmins is not a valuable enough piece to convince the Ducks to not get the 2023 1st over the 2024, you guys just picked him up for an AHL bottom 6 forward, and he probably gets claimed on waivers when we attempt to send him to the AHL for seasoning.

Sabres would decline
With all the forward prospects we currently have,
i can’t see any reason at all we’d be interested in Hirvonen
